We need your support!
Grimsby Symphony Orchestra is a Registered Charity and needs your help and support to continue the good work we do in promoting music in North East Lincolnshire.
Supporting the GSO is a great way of meeting some very lovely people & enjoying some great music too!!
See below for how you can help us.
(There are also some other organisations you may be interested in to further your musical experience.)

THE FIFTY CLUB
One of the ways the Grimsby Symphony Orchestra is helped to keep going is by the scheme known as ‘The Fifty Club’. Under this scheme, people buy a ticket (for £10) in a draw at the next concert, so there are two draws a year. A significant amount of the money is returned in prizes – one prize of £100, one of £50 and a minimum of two of £25 for each draw – and the remainder (less expenses, such as the licence fee) helps to keep the Orchestra going.
If there are more than fifty subscribers, extra prizes may be allocated, normally at the £25 level, but sometimes at the £50 level too. It seems that relatively few audience members are aware of the 50 Club and how it works, so this notice is intended to help explain (and publicise) it and encourage participation.
Tickets for the forthcoming draw are available now (contact any Orchestra member and thrust notes into their hand!), It may also be possible for us to sell tickets up until the beginning of the concert on the 17th May (the draw normally takes place after the interval.
So, if your appetite has been whetted, please speak to someone BEFORE the concert begins to book your ticket. You can also email the orchestra by replying to this email and we can send you the online banking details if you would prefer to do it that way!

Friends of GSOList Item 2
One thing that the orchestra needs is a group of Friends to support us! If you are a gregarious type of person, with lots of contacts in the community and would like to support the orchestra in a practical way, why not volunteer to become a Friend of the GSO?
Friends typically receive priority bookings, a complimentary programme, an "I Support the GSO' sticker, and an occasional newsletter (we promise not to spam you!) We also hope to have your name in the programme soon, along with any local businesses that can sponsor us. Interested Friends should click on the link below for more information.
Thank you!

Barnyard Bandidos - For Hire
“The Barnyard Bandidos”, are a “wannabe Klezmer” band adding a “twist"to most musical genres including classical.
The name: “Bandidos” Spanish meaning bandit, we are musical bandits, stealing music from others and arranging it in our own Barnyard style, what we do to it, some would say is criminal, for example adding “The Specials hit “Gangsters” to the end of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto, believe you me it works!
Chris, our violinist, is a farmer and we rehearse in a beautiful barn, hence Barnyard.
The photo here was taken at a rehearsal for a party on the farm. We are a “festival band” and are happiest playing for fun in a field.
Please contact Karen Hodges on 07765955959 if you are in need of some “fun, festival” therapy at very amenable rates.
